(In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful) Today I wanted to write about Living with Gratitude. As part of my to-do list from the Fast 2 Fit Guide, I have been trying to finally read and properly understand the Noble Quran this year.
It has been many years, when I would say Alhamdolillah, or Thank you Allah (SWT) or Subhan Allah and Masha Allah to express gratitude towards Allah, but a lot or most of it I knew has been superficial. For example, reading the Tasbih, and saying the Subhan Allah and Alhamdolillah, or at various times after eating or drinking.
And I am not saying that is wrong. Saying the words automatically, without even thinking will still help you on the path of Living in Gratitude. And if you want to take it one step further.
Read along and let me know your thoughts.
Today, I come across this Ayah from Surah Al Mulk.
Say [Prophet], ‘It is He who brought you into being, He who endowed you with hearing, sight, and understanding– what small thanks you give!’[Quran 67:23]
Say [Prophet], ‘It is He who brought you into being, He who endowed you with hearing, sight, and understanding– what small thanks you give!’
What comes to your mind as you think about this Ayah? Leave a Comment and let me know.

There are many who are born without hearing, and sight or other defects. And I am sure we can all understand the difficult life they have. May Allah make it easy for them.
Here is an exercise I am trying and hope you can all try to. I say
Thank You, Allah(SWT), for my eyes, that see properly.
Thank You, Allah(SWT), for my ears, that hear well.
Thank You, Allah(SWT), for my nose, that can smell.
Thank You, Allah(SWT), for my hands, that function so well, I can write, cook, bathe, dress up, take care of my kids, pick things up, feel hot and cold.
Thank You, Allah(SWT), for my mouth, that I can speak.
And so on. I sat and meditated and listed every organ that I know of by name as a nonmedical person and said Thank You to Allah for giving it to me and that it functions properly without me doing anything at all.
Well, I have no idea. Let us find out together. Not only stay in the sense of Gratitude but also list by name what you are grateful for. I have heard it changes lives, and can not wait to find out how it will change all of ours!
Most importantly though I want to Practice it because Allah(SWT) asked us to do so and do not forget you also earn the Hasanat. By following the Sunnah of our Prophet (SAW).
