I might be a little late in posting this, but there are tremendous benefits to fasting for 6 days in Shawwal. There are varying opinions by various scholars about whether it is the 6 consecutive days or 6 nonconsecutive days after the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Allah knows better.
But if you are intending to make up for the missed fasts in any of the prior years, or childhood. This may be the perfect month to do it.
It was narrated from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever fasts six days after the Fitr will have completed the year, for whoever does a good deed will have the reward of ten like it.”
